Like everyone in the community I was horrified at the events that occurred in Bondi last Saturday. My heart breaks with the victims, their families, friends and the community.
I want to say thank you to the brave police who risk their lives everyday to protect us and to Inspector Amy Scott whose heroism put an end to the violence.
I want to thank the paramedics and other first responders.
I also want to thank the bystanders, who courageously helped those who needed it and whose lives are changed forever.
An online condolence booklet is also available to sign here.
The terrorist event at Wakeley and the events that followed leading to police officers being injured in responding were appealing.
It goes against everything our country stands for, to attack a Bishop giving a sermon. I thank police who put themselves in harms way in responding to this incident.
The NSW Government and NSW Police are working with faith and community leaders to ensure community harmony.
As the Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism, I could not be more proud of the conduct of the police in responding to these events. We truly do have the best police force in the world.
