MYGOV REVIEW OPENS DOOR FOR STREAMLINING GOVERNMENT SERVICES

The Albanese Labor Government’s review into MyGov gives the NSW Government the opportunity to finally streamline Digital Government services between the state and federal Governments.

Currently the integration between the MyGov and Service NSW apps is minimal, but the door is now open for the apps to be more interoperable and share data and services.

NSW has rolled out Digital Drivers Licences, but they are not recognised in other states across Australia.

Integrating the NSW Digital Drivers Licence with the MyGov app would allow for recognition nationwide.

The current NSW Government has failed to integrate federal services such as Medicare into the Service NSW app.

It is past time that NSW finally delivered on their promise of Service NSW being a one stop shop for government services.

Quotes attributable to Yasmin Catley, NSW Shadow Minister for Customer Service and Digital:

“The review of MyGov is a great initiative of the Albanese Government.

“NSW Labor is committed to working closely with our federal counterparts to improve access to digital government services, starting with integrating the NSW Digital Drivers Licence with the MyGov app and Medicare with the Service NSW app.

“When the state and federal governments act in silos it makes it harder for people to access government services. Labor is committed to streamlining access across the board.”
