I acknowledge the wonderful work that the members of the Gwandalan Lioness Club do in our local community. Over the past few months the Gwandalan Lionesses have spent their time organising a fashion parade fundraiser for Elsie's Retreat. Elsie's Retreat is a local charity that was established by Oana McBride from San Remo and named after her friend Elsie Green, who sadly passed away in a nursing home after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Since then, members of the local community have rallied together to raise money for palliative care services on the Central Coast, which are desperately needed.

The Gwandalan Lioness Club fashion parade, which included raffles and silent auctions, raised an incredible $5,720. I acknowledge the local businesses that donated, including On the Lane Boutique at Toukley. I give special thanks to Jane Bridgett, June Spencer, Gloria Shawcroff and Helen Morrison from the Gwandalan Lionesses, whose incredible efforts resulted in a very successful event.
